ITH PUPPY COASTERS by Faye's Threads

By popular demand here are the Puppy Coasters.  Many people requested a fancy cover stitch over the satin stitching, so with Heather’s blessing, I have added one on this set.

Children young and old are going to fall in love with this set.  I know I did! 

These eight cute Puppy Coasters come in three sizes. The approximate finished sizes are -

  • 5x7 Hoop - 5 x 6.5”
  • 6x10 Hoop - 6 x 8”
  • 8x12 Hoop - 7.5 x 10.5”

The only fabrics that you will need to measure are the backing fabric and the batting.  All other fabrics are of varying sizes.  Once again, I delved into my scrap stash!

 Materials:

  • Water Soluble Stabiliser (WSS)  
  • Batting of your choice
  • Fabric pieces in puppy colours.  You can use your scrap pieces for these designs.
  • Backing fabric for the Placemats
  • Matching bobbin thread

These cute puppies can also be appliqued onto fabric to embellish bibs, clothing, reading cushions, or quilts. Just use cut away stabiliser and omit the backing step.  The instructions highlight the step to skip over.

We use hoop size descriptions in line with usual industry terms.  If you are unsure if your hoop is big enough for a design, please check the size in mm, or click here for a list of common Embroidery Hoop Sizes

Please note that our 6x10 designs utilize the full embroidery field, which may not fit within the Oval Bernina hoop. If this is the case, you may need to use a larger Bernina hoop or opt for the 5x7 designs instead.
