In case you are new to the world of large applique designs, let me fill you in. A large applique design is one which needs 2 or more hoopings, with the joining completed as you stitch, in the hoop. The beauty of my large applique designs is you can quickly create a 3D Animal Design much larger than your hoop, and then add them to quilt blocks, reading pillows or pretty much any item as you like. 

This stunning Dragon is created in nine segments - joined completely in-the-hoop like a jig-saw, so while there are a few hooping’s, there is no awkward aligning and comes together quite fast.

 This Dragon is going on the wall in my lounge, so I used two very similar purple colors and threads. But you could choose to use more contrasting colours.

Imagine using this large design on a Quilt for a Lover of Fantasy Designs. We used Mylar on the Wings and Gem Stone but that is optional.

6X10  34 by 51cms 13 by 20 inches

We use hoop size descriptions in line with usual industry terms.  If you are unsure if your hoop is big enough for a design, please check the size in mm, or click here for a list of common Embroidery Hoop Sizes

Please note that our 6x10 designs utilize the full embroidery field, which may not fit within the Oval Bernina hoop. If this is the case, you may need to use a larger Bernina hoop or opt for the 5x7 designs instead.
