In case you are new to the world of large applique designs, let me fill you in. A large applique design is one which needs 2 or more hoopings, with the joining completed as you stitch, in the hoop. The beauty of my large applique designs is you can quickly create a 3D Design much larger than your hoop.

Our In-the-hoop Mug Rug/Placemat is made in 3 hooping’s - joined easily in-the-hoop like a Jig-saw to creates a larger size design.  Use 2 or more Fabrics to create unique Placemats to match your Kitchen.  A combination of sizes would make a beautiful Gift.  The design is reversible (Matching Bobbin thread required)

  • 5x7 hoop creates a 7 by 9-inch (18 by 22cm) Mug Rug
  • 6x10 hoop creates a 9.5 12-inch (24 by 30cm) Place Mat

If you have editing software, I am more than happy for you to add your own designs to the centre, to create unique Placemats for yourself.

We use hoop size descriptions in line with usual industry terms.  If you are unsure if your hoop is big enough for a design, please check the size in mm, or click here for a list of common Embroidery Hoop Sizes

Please note that our 6x10 designs utilize the full embroidery field, which may not fit within the Oval Bernina hoop. If this is the case, you may need to use a larger Bernina hoop or opt for the 5x7 designs instead.
